Here’s how it all works… (more detail)
1) Book online as far in advance as you can
To book, just complete our online booking form and then call our office to pay the deposit by card (or ask us for a PayPal invoice if you prefer to pay online). We’ll then get you booked in at the shooting range, and a few days later you will receive your formal booking confirmation by email with all the key details of your shooting event (pick-up time, local contact numbers for emergencies, proof of deposit payment etc).
Please note that during spring and summer time, and at weekends you will need to pre-book at least a couple of weeks before you’d like to shoot.
2) Driver collects from hotel
Our driver comes to your hotel entrance and collects your group at the agreed pick-up time. With some hotels or apartments it is difficult for the driver to park or leave the minibus so please keep an eye on the entrance to the hotel, and have your group ready to go a few minutes before the agreed pick-up time. If your hotel or rental apartment address is changed at short notice please let us know the new address as soon as possible, so we can brief the driver with the correct address and avoid any lengthy delays finding you. The trip to the range usually only takes about 10 minutes.
3) Registration & Safety Briefing
After being welcomed to the shooting range, and sorting out any balance payment with the Range Manager (for those paying the balance on arrival) there is a short safety briefing in English from the senior instructor on site, and the chance to ask any questions. There is also a waiver form to read and sign. This all takes only about 5-10 minutes, and then the real fun can begin.
4) Shooting different guns
You each take turns at shooting the different guns that are included in your chosen shooting event. Those not shooting can watch the shooters whilst they are waiting for their turn to shoot. The range is indoors so no need for any special outdoor clothing. The firing points are close to the viewing area, so you will be able to watch those shooting and are welcome to take photos of your friends whilst you are waiting for your turn. There is 1-to-1 instructor coaching during all periods of live fire to ensure your safety.
5) Shooting your T-shirt
Then towards the end of the event each shooter gets his/her own Gun Gremlin T-shirt to shoot some souvenir bullet holes in to remind them of the trip to Top Gun Tallinn. The Gun Gremlin T-shirt is usually shot with a full bore pistol (all of our shooting events include at least one pistol) because these tend to make the most impressive bullet holes!
6) Optional Extras Available
At the end of the main shooting event you will have the opportunity to buy more ammo and rent additional guns on an individual basis (for extras price list please visit our the downloads page). These tend to be more exotic guns like .44 Magnums and some modern military firearms. The time available for extras depends on how busy the shooting range is, so on busy days this may be limited. The “extras” shooting is entirely optional and if you are in a hurry, or on a tight budget, this can be skipped altogether.
7) Winners announced & photos
The winners are announced along with a score sheet so that everyone can see how they did. And finally there is an opportunity for some group photos holding some of the unloaded guns. There are a couple of safety rules that must be observed when posing with the guns (i.e. Finger off the trigger; Gun always pointed in a safe direction, never at another person).
8) Trip back to Tallinn
Then its back to your hotel or apartment in Tallinn town centre on the minibus. As with the trip out, this usually only takes about 10 minutes.
